Have you ever seen long frieght trains bein' pulled/pushed but no engine is seen in early season 1 episodes? Well the engine is the Marklin engine. He's kinda like bigfoot or the lochness in the Thomas universe. He didn't have a smoke generator nor a face. He is seen in one of Sodor Island's behind the scenes photos. He wasn't used in later seasons though. Mainly because after season 2 the Clearwater team went on to produce the sister show TUGS, while that time the set was left in dormancy and eventually replaced with bigger models and a bigger set altogether in later seasons. The most that came out of him is either one of those rusty scrap engines seen in scrap yards or he was modified into Puffa.
